She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eleanore Thompson, and her brother, Richard E. Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Ken Thames; daughter, Heidi Moore; son in-law, Matt Moore; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Eleanore Moore; step grandchildren, Bailey and Matthew Moore; sister in-laws, Mary Ann Thompson, Lisa Thames, Sharon Rankin and Ann Thames; brother in-laws, Bob Thames, Bryan Rankin and Richard Thames; nephews, Wesley and Brett Thompson; nieces, Laura and Amy Thames; and godson, Michael Vallely Jr., whose parents were dear friends to Barbara, Mike and Kathy Vallely.
She was originally from Buffalo, New York but moved to Dallas, Texas in 1980. She stated that the reason she moved to Texas was from falling in love with the Dallas Cowboys after their heartbreaking loss to the Green Bay Packers during the 1967 Ice Bowl. Barb never met a stranger and was one of the most kindhearted and thoughtful people you could ever meet. She would do anything for anyone and deeply cared about all of her family and friends. She will be missed by so many, but her legacy lives on through all of the lives that she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, Texas.
