

On August 24, 2020 at 8:22pm Dawnie Dahir, loving wife and mother of three beautiful daughters passed away at age 68.
Dawnie was born on January 14, 1952 in what used to be Connally Air Force Base outside of Waco, TX. As a child she moved around a lot because her father was in the army. She graduated from Killeen High School and The University of Texas in Austin with a degree in business. On March 28, 1981 she married the love of her life, Ed Dahir. Dawnie had three amazing daughters, identical twins Kim and Kerri and then three years later Brandy arrived.
She gained a passion for speaking and writing and joined Toastmasters in 2010. In 2016 Dawnie wrote a children’s book, “Let Me Give You a Whisper”. In 2018 Dawnie was thrilled to be awarded the highest honor of DTM, a Distinguished Toastmaster. In 2019 she won first place at the Covenant Voices Club Contest.
All of Dawnies friends knew her as a healthy person. She strived to be healthy and joyous in everything she did. She loved getting together with friends and family to play cards and dominos and loved to laugh. Her love for her grandkids was unmatched.
Dawnie was proceeded in death by her parents, Lester and Elsie Tolliver. She is survived by her husband Ed Dahir, her daughters, Kim Tarver (John), Kerri Goldsworth (Scott), and Brandy Fisher (Kyle). She was known by Dodie to her grandkids, Austin, Weston, Hunter, Luke, Lily and Ryleigh. Dawnie is also survived by three sisters, Jeanne Humphrey, Carol Morgan, Lynne Tames and one brother, Terry Tolliver.
Celebration of Life Information:
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2020 at Rhoton Funeral Home of Carrollton at 1:00pm. Flowers and donations can be sent to 1511 S Interstate 35E, Carrollton, TX 75006.
