

Esperanza Cerna Felan, 73, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026. She was born on August 14, 1952, in Coahuila, Mexico, where she was raised before later making her home in Texas.
Esperanza was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her three sons, Hugo, Jorge, and Edward, and her daughter, Laura. She cherished every moment spent with her children and found immense happiness in watching her grandchildren grow. In recent months, she was especially overjoyed to spend time with her 8-month-old great-grandson, a blessing that brought her deep pride and comfort.
Known for her radiant smile that could light up any room, Esperanza carried a warmth and kindness that touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. Her joyful spirit and unwavering positivity were a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.
A woman of deep faith, Esperanza’s life was guided by her love of God, which sustained her through life’s challenges. She showed extraordinary strength and resilience in her 23-year battle with breast cancer, facing each day with courage, grace, and determination. She fought bravely until the very end, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and perseverance.
Esperanza will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her boundless love, her enduring faith, and the light she brought into the lives of others.
