Eva Jean Clark Lewis was born July 21, 1931 in Seattle Washington. She passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at T. Boone Pickens Hospice Facility.
Jean grew up in Seattle, Washington and Sacramento, California . She graduated from High school in Sacramento in 1948 and went to work as a cashier at J.C. Penneys in Seattle.
In 1952, Jean and a friend went to Alaska for a vacation. While they were there, they went to a dance. Lesley Lewis saw her across the room and told his friend that that was the girl he was going to marry. After Jean went back to Seattle, Les came to visit her and they married 2 years later on June 25,1954.
Les was in the Air Force and that took them many places to live – London , Maine, Louisiana and Ohio before Les retired in 1971. They lived in Seattle for a while and then moved back to Texas in the mid 70’s.
Jean loved working with numbers and worked at a bank every where they lived. After moving back to Farmers Branch, she worked at TG&Y and then went to work at The Associates (which later became CitiGroup) until she retired. She said that most people got a certificate when they retired and the President called her in his office and gave her a watch, which she was still wearing when she passed away.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lesley Lewis and one brother, Richard Roller. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hamby, sister in law Mary Keller, numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much, her church family and many friends.
