It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Javier Duenes, who passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at the age of 90, in his home in Carrollton, Texas. A man of great warmth, humor, and kindness, Javier will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born in Zacaton, SLP Javier's journey was marked by hard work, dedication, and a love for the people around him. He worked as a maintenance man in a hospital in Chicago, where his reliability and friendly nature left a lasting impression on all who worked with him. In 1987, Javier moved to El Paso, Texas, where he worked as a school janitor for many years. His work ethic was matched only by his love for the children he served, often taking on a part-time role as a crossing guard. The students affectionately called him "Grandpa," a testament to the care and compassion he showed them every day.

Javier was a charismatic individual who loved to laugh and joke around. He had a gift for making people smile, and his infectious sense of humor brought joy to everyone in his presence. In July 2012, after the loss of his beloved wife, Javier moved to Carrollton, Texas, to be close to his children. There, he found new ways to stay active and connected, often spending time at the Senior Citizen Center, where he enjoyed playing pool with his friends and staying fit through regular exercise.

Throughout his life, Javier remained a deeply connected person, regularly keeping in touch with family and friends through phone calls, maintaining those important relationships despite the miles between them. His positive outlook, deep love for his family, and genuine kindness impacted countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of care, joy, and laughter.

Javier is survived by his beloved children, Luis, Roberto, Javier, Irma, Javier, and Nancy, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service in honor of Javier’s life will be held at Rhoton Funeral Home on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. prayer of the rosary will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Mass will be on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 3:30 pm at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, TX.

Javier’s legacy of laughter, love, and friendship will remain with us forever. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Con corazones tristes, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Javier Dueñes, quien falleció en paz el 16 de marzo de 2025, a la edad de 90 años, en su hogar en Carrollton, Texas. Un hombre de gran calidez, humor y amabilidad, Javier será profundamente extrañado por todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Nacido en Zacatón, SLP, el camino de Javier estuvo marcado por el trabajo arduo, la dedicación y un gran amor por las personas a su alrededor. Trabajó como encargado de mantenimiento en un hospital en Chicago, donde su fiabilidad y naturaleza amigable dejaron una impresión duradera en todos los que trabajaron con él. En 1987, Javier se mudó a El Paso, Texas, donde trabajó como conserje escolar durante muchos años. Su ética de trabajo solo era igualada por su amor por los niños a los que servía, asumiendo a menudo un rol adicional como guardia de cruce. Allí encontró nuevas formas de mantenerse activo y conectado, pasando a menudo tiempo en el Centro de Recreacional para Personas Mayores, donde disfrutaba jugando al billar con sus amigos y manteniéndose activo a través de ejercicio regular.

A lo largo de su vida, Javier fue una persona profundamente conectada, manteniéndose en contacto regularmente con familiares y amigos a través de llamadas telefónicas, manteniendo esas relaciones importantes a pesar de la distancia. Su perspectiva positiva, su profundo amor por su familia y su genuina amabilidad impactaron innumerables vidas, dejando un legado de cuidado, alegría y risas.

Javier deja atrás a sus amados hijos, Luis, Roberto, Javier, Irma, Javier y Nancy, así como a muchos nietos, bisnietos y amigos que atesorarán su memoria.

Un servicio memorial en honor a la vida de Javier se llevará a cabo en Rhoton Funeral Home el jueves 3 de abril de 2025, de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., y la oración del rosario será de 7:30 p.m. a 8:30 p.m. La misa será el viernes 4 de abril de 2025, a las 3:30 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa María Inmaculada en Farmers Branch, TX.

El legado de Javier de risas, amor y amistad permanecerá con nosotros para siempre. Lo extrañaremos mucho, pero su espíritu vivirá en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron.
