Lois was born in Freeburg, Illinois July 26, 1922 and raised in St Louis , Missouri. She left this earth peacefully to be with God and loved ones on November 20, 2018 in Frisco, Texas. At age 96, she was preceded in death by her husband, Murle Lawrence Caldwell after 50 plus years of marriage in Columbus , Ohio (Upper Arlington) where she raised her children. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ann Telford at age 35 and brother Louis Hexter. She is survived by sons Mike Caldwell and wife Marie of Danville, Kentucky and Patrick Caldwell and wife Linda of Carrollton, Texas and her dear sister, Marilyn Monihan of St Louis, Missouri. Survived by son in law Walter Scott Telford Jr and wife Karen of Hamilton, Ohio
She had 5 grandchildren W. Scott Telford III and wife Teresa of Cincinnati OH, Benjamin Caldwell and wife Terri of Richardson, TX , Murle Caldwell Telford and wife Mor Wexler of Luxemburg, Kelly Caldwell Sterling and husband Ryan of Richardson, TX, and Caitlin Caldwell and husband Richard Carroll of New York. Step grandchildren Lisa Bohlman and spouse Anthony of Hamilton, OH and Jennifer Carr and spouse Kevin of Crittenden, KY
She has 7 ½ great grandchildren; Walter Scott Telford IV (Scooter) and Elaine Bley Telford (Laney) of Cincinnati, Cade, Callie, and Caelyn Caldwell of Richardson (with Cora Beth due in March), and Luke and Kyley Sterling of Richardson.
Her children were a great source of pride. Step great grandchildren Emma Grace Bohlman, and Kurt, Kayleigh, Tyler, and Abby Carr.
Barbara was a speech pathologist, Mike was a veterinarian, and Pat was an insurance executive and later a homebuilder. All 3 graduated from Ohio State. Barbara was a high ranking Camp Fire Girl and both boys were Eagle Scouts.
Lois was a gymnast, roller skater, and volleyball player in school, and later was a championship bowler and card player. Her work life included secretary, Youthland retail employee, and financial person for her church, Trinity United Methodist in Columbus, OH. Her fun was counted cross stitch, knitting, crafts, canning, and avid collector of rubber bands, cutting boards, cardboard, deflated balloons, and dead flowers. She sent cards and letters to friends and family like you have never seen when she was able.
She moved south about 10 years ago where she lived in Plano, TX. In Texas she met weekly with the KnitWits (knitting group) and used to play Pokeno and Canasta with an ever expanding group of friends.
Even after moving across the country a couple of times her mail and phone lines were active connecting to friends and family from Missouri , Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, and New York. You were a friend for life no matter what.
We revel in joy that after 3 years of health problems, she has gone to Heaven with her loved ones and God. She was an exemplary example of a fine Christian woman. She was the best Mom to so many and loving Grandma and Great Grandma to a bunch more.
We celebrate her life on Friday November, 23 with viewing at 3:00 pm and funeral service officiated by Ben Caldwell at Rhoton Funeral Home Crosby and i35E in Carrollton, TX 75006.
