I was just trying to find people I knew at college to see if they were attending a big reunion. Thought of my friend Mike, for whom I worked at the university when I was a student and he, a professor, ran the foreign language lab. Omg, we all had so much fun, and "Mr. Mahler" and I got along so well, he hired me as his first director of Foreign Language Associates, his new company. Our first major coup was winning a gig on a huge project in the big-three automotive world. The company needed a car manual recorded, translated into Canadian French. Mike and I made an impressive hire to do this, a Canadian star on the St. Louis Blues hockey team. Everyone was wowed. Long story very short: the man was a disaster. And one of us, either Mike or me, had to go into the film studio and fire him. It was like a scene from Seinfeld or The Three Stooges. Mike and I were slapping each other's arms saying, No, you do it!!! We were laughing even in our terror. We stayed in touch for many years, and I still treasure his wedding gift of handmade art featuring his signature mosaics. Love to you, Sole, and your children, grandchildren and greats. I'm sure you deeply miss his youthful zest and energy.

On behalf of the St. James High School Alumni Association and his 1956 classmates, I extend our deepest sympathies and prayers on your loss. On April 21, 2024, the Alumni Association will remember Michael at their annual Memorial Mass at St. Madeline's Church in Ridley Park, PA.  May he rest in peace!

I knew Mike through our mutual love for the language industry. Mike was a kind-hearted man and was always ready to collaborate with our company when we needed his expertise. He helped us on numerous occasions over the years. 

His passion for his art was inspiring. I loved receiving his holiday art pieces each year and will treasure them forever. He will be sorely missed.

Mike was one-of-a-kind; he marched to the beat of his own drum and left a legacy hard to match.  Thirty years ago he gave me a chance to work for him with very little experience, then later motivated me to become a federal interpreter. Even when we differed in opinion, he was always respectful and listened to the other side. I will miss him dearly and wish for his family to find solace in the fact that he was a great man who selflessly did a lot for many. Rest in Peace, Mike...

We first met in St Louis at a quinceañera for my goddaughter Stacey. Mike moved to Carrollton years later and fell in love with our city.  Sole sold the St Louis home and joined him. The friendship between the artist (him) and the mathematician (me) grew. I will miss the discussions we had. Rest in Peace mi amigo until we meet again.

I have such love and wonderful memories of Uncle Mike and cherish his drawings and art that adorn my home and that of my children. He gave a piece of himself to all of us. While his passing is a great loss take comfort in the legacy and memories he has left us all. We are so sorry we can’t be there in person, but know you all are in our thoughts. To the Mahler Family,

I had the privilege of working with your father/grandfather for many years at the federal courthouse in Dallas.  He translated for many of my hearings, and he did so with kindness and expertise.  I loved his drawings, and he would often show them to me after long days in court.  His gentle demeanor and great sense of humor will be missed.

Had the pleasure to work with Michael when I was working for the USDC ND/TX and again upon transfer to USDC WD/OK.  A good and kind man who was a master at his craft in  both words and actions.  A true artist.  You served the world well Michael I wish you great joy in paradise!  Well done. . 🙏🏼

To the family of Michael , sincere condolences. We were lucky to meet him and his wife whilst staying in Cazalla de la Sierra . They were both kind and engaging with us all and we purchased a few of his paintings which hang in our homes here in the UK .

I am so fortunate to have known kind, funny, sweet Mike Mahler. I will miss his smile around the courthouse, and I will think of him every winter season for the rest of my life for the precious drawing of Christ in the Manger that he made last year. What a gem of a human being he was!  Sending love to his family.
