Pam Waldron of University Park, Texas, died on August 26th, 2025, at the age of 77, after courageously battling cancer for 20 years. She was brave and determined to embrace everything life had to offer. Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully in her sleep following one last cherished family dinner.
Pam was born in Dallas, Texas on January 1st, 1948 to John and Mary Anderson (Maisie) Cain. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966 and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Chi Omega and majored in elementary education. In her sophomore year, she met her future husband, Mike, who was working as a waiter in her dorm, and has been waiting on her ever since, by some account(s). They married on June 6, 1970, one week after her college graduation.
Pam was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. Her curiosity led her on incredibly adventurous travels to Cuba, Israel, Kenya, South Africa, Russia, Antarctica, Europe, the South Pacific, and countless other destinations. A lifelong learner, she read voraciously, attended lectures, and embraced experiential learning wherever her journeys took her. She never met a stranger and was a loyal friend to all who knew her-remarkable, brave, creative, talented, wise, stylish, and deeply committed to those she loved.
She delighted in giving gifts and was renowned for her beautifully wrapped presents with perfect bows that were nearly impossible to open. She was intentional about helping her children or grandchildren make costumes, arrange flowers, learn to write, or create beautiful things.
She was active in numerous service organizations and served on several boards of directors, including her beloved Woman's Club. She prioritized her time with her friends, family and community organizations, making the world a better place in the process.
Pam is survived by Mike, her husband of 55 (consecutive) years; her three children, Julie Runda, Matt Waldron, and Valerie Johnson, and their spouses, Mike Runda, Haley Waldron, and Riley Johnson; her sister, Carol Craul; five grandchildren, Claire French, Caroline French, Ryan Waldron, Kate Waldron, and Parker Johnson; and nephew Owen Barton, his wife, Lisa and their four children.
A Memorial service for Pamela will be in the sanctuary of Highland Park United Methodist Church on Friday, September 26th at 10 AM. In lieu flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the charitable organization of your choice.
