

Robert (Ed) Green of Carrollton, TX beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2011 with his family at his side. Born August 15, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Ok, Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, daughters Kathryn Green of San Francisco, CA; Kim Schultz and spouse David of Plano, TX; Kelly Garneaux and spouse Andre and grandchildren Noah and Chloe Garneaux of Pilot Point, TX.
Ed graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Ok in 1949 and then graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1953 as Commander of the ROTC.
Ed joined the United States Air Force in 1953 and retired as a Major in 1973 and also retired from the DFW Airport in 1993. He flew fighter planes and B52 bombers during his two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster for his more than 300 missions in Viet Nam.
Ed married Judy in 1953 and they enjoyed travelling and being stationed throughout the world. They retired in Carrollton, TX where they enjoyed gardening and spending time with their grandchildren. Ed was an avid fisherman, hunter, and nature lover. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, dominos, billiards and playing Trivial Pursuit with his family. Ed enjoyed all things sports related especially The Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, The Dallas Cowboys, The Dallas Stars and professional tennis.
Services will be held at Rhoton Funeral Chapel at 1511 S. Interstate 35E, Carrollton, TX, at 10am on Friday March 11, 2011. Services will be followed by a private honorary military internment at DFW National Cemetery.
