

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 pm on May 25 at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, 1810 North Perry Road, Carrollton with Chris Everson of First United Methodist Church of Royse City officiating. Arrangements are made by Rhoton Funeral Home.
Ruth was born on October 2, 1921 in Alma, Nebraska, the second child and first daughter of William C. Walker and Alta Elizabeth Baker Walker. She attended the Alma public schools and graduated as valedictorian of her class. Immediately following graduation, she began teaching at a one-room school house and later attended Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hasting, Nebraska. Upon receiving her RN, she joined the US Army Nurse Corps and served in the Pacific theater during WW II. She received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan and Philippine Liberation.
In 1946 she married Frederick Bigelow Inman and moved to Bergenfield, New Jersey where the resided until retiring to Texas in 1977.
Ruth was preceded in death by Frederick Inman her husband of 47 years, parents William and Alta Walker, daughter, Elizabeth Cohee, grandson, Todd Cohee, brothers Floyd, Bob and Donald Walker and sister Margaret Hooper.
She is survived by daughter Harriet Hofmann and husband Roy, son-in-law William Cohee, grandsons James Hofmann and wife Sara, David Hofmann, Brian Cohee and wife Lauren, Mark Cohee and wife Amy, and great-grandsons Tyler and Matthew Hofmann and Oliver, Elliott and Nicholas Cohee in addition to sisters Jean Christensen and husband Don and June Christensen and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Hofmann, David Hofmann, Tyler Hofmann, Matthew Hofmann, William Cohee and Mark Cohee.
The family is sincerely grateful to her caregivers Joy, Mary and Dianna who provided her with devoted care during the last year of her life and to the staff of Vitas Hospice especially her nurse Trina Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s research in memory of her daughter Elizabeth or to a charity of your choice.
