Born in Cherokee County, Georgia on August 16, 1928, Mrs. Beck was the daughter of Lewis Howard Lusk and Faith Elliott Lusk.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Grady C. Beck. As the "baby" of her family she is also preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses: beloved sister Mary (Harry) Parker, Cecil (Jerry) Lusk, Fay Nell Lusk, Lafayette (Frances) Lusk, Louis (Louise) Lusk and Winston Lusk; sisters-in law and brothers-in law Frances Beck, William (Janice) Beck, Jean (Robert) Smith and Estelle Beck.
Mrs. Beck is survived by her children and their spouses: Steve (Gayle) Beck, John (Vicki) Beck, Mary (Randy) Berrey and Nancy (Chuck) Pollock, all of Cartersville. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Dan Beck of Acworth, whom she called "little brother".
As grandmother, "Momar," she is cherished by eight grandchildren: Jonathan Beck, Leslie (Brian) Shoemaker, Brent (Rebekka) Beck, Jason (Casey) Beck, Scott (Sabrina) Pollock, Carrie (Brent) Bowman, Alex (Alex) Berrey and Elliott (Hilina) Berrey; and five great-grandchildren: Ryan McCrary, Harper Shoemaker, Brooklynn Beck, Blakely Bowman and Henry Pollock. Caring "Aunt Betty" is also survived by several nieces and nephews that all meant so much to her.
Steve, John, Mary and Nancy always marveled at how blessed they were to have Betty Beck as their mother!
Mrs. Beck faithfully served as the "temporary" secretary for Tabernacle Baptist Church for 24 years, and was honored with a retirement celebration in 1992. Miss Betty and
Mr. Grady cared for the toddler Sunday School class for so many years that they taught the children of children.
Betty Jean Lusk Beck's faith and service were the most important parts of her life, as the seed of God's love was planted in her heart by the Bible verse, "We love Him, because He
first loved us." -- I John 4:19.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Tabernacle Baptist Church 31 Douglas St Cartersville, GA with Dr. Patrick Latham officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the church.
