

Billy Joe was born on September 30, 1939, in Fort Payne, Alabama, to the late Joe Bailey Killian and Mattie Stephens Miller. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ruth Killian; his sister, Mitzi Shaw; and his stepfather, Raymond Miller.
He is survived by his son, Scott Killian (Renee); grandson, Landon Killian (Kristy); granddaughter, Dara Killian (Kirk); great-grandson, Cain Killian; great-granddaughter, Cora Killian; niece, Traci Folsom: and extended family, the Hart family.
Billy Joe was a graduate of Fort Payne High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962, with service in San Francisco, California, and Japan. Following his military service, he devoted over 50 years (1963–2013) to a successful career as a manager in the textile industry.
Known for his discipline and unwavering work ethic, Billy Joe was also remembered for his love of family, his passion for watching Jeopardy!, and his dedication as an avid runner at Dellinger Park. Many will fondly recall seeing him with his distinctive eagle tattoo.
