

Brenda Ruth Cagle Morris, age 80 of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Cartersville, GA on July 21, 1945 to Herman David Cagle and Hallie Nena Collins Cagle.
She was a master cosmetologist and continued to provide hair services for friends and family even after leaving the salon in order to stay home with her children. She was an active member of Raccoon Creek Baptist Church for the last 50+ years. Her intimate relationship with her savior Jesus Christ was reflected in the relationships she had with her husband, family, and friends. She married the love of her life, James Phillip Morris, on August 12th, 1966, and they remained faithfully married for almost 59 years. Their love, relationship, and the family they built served as a shining example for those around them, especially their children.
There was never a time you would see her when she wouldn’t offer you a warm smile and heartfelt hug. While she cherished time with her friends, she had no greater joy than spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. In the words of Maya Angelou “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This idea is best exemplified by the life Brenda Morris lived. She made sure everyone around her felt her love and kindness.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hallie Cagle and brother, Wendell Cagle. She is survived by her husband of almost 59 years, Phillip Morris; children, James (Crystal) Morris, David Morris, Cynthia (William) Hilburn, Cathy Fleetwood; grandchildren, Gavin Brown and J.P. Morris, William and Graham Hilburn, Trafton, Hallie, Christin, and Jackson Fleetwood; sisters, Deborah Padgett, Delores Cox; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Black and Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery with J.P. Morris, William and Graham Hilburn, Trafton and Jackson Fleetwood, Boyd and Andrew Morris serving as pallbearers and Paul and Truman Padgett serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
