Bruce Robinson, 61, of Rydal, Georgia, passed away on November 18, 2025. Born on March 19, 1964 on his mother's 20th birthday, at Kennestone Hospital, Bruce was the beloved son of Linda Sue Robinson and Benjamin Bruce Robinson.
Bruce grew up in the Atlanta area and graduated from Greater Atlanta Christian School in 1982. He later attended David Lipscomb University and Kennesaw State University, where he proudly played on the very first Kennesaw State men’s basketball team. His love for sports continued throughout his life, playing on numerous travel basketball teams well into his forties.
On April 24, 1993, Bruce married the love of his life, Melissa Kay Cannon, in Marietta, Georgia. Their marriage was a true partnership marked by devotion, laughter, and countless memories—many of which were created over the warm breakfasts Bruce loved to cook for his wife and family.
Bruce built a respected career at Profire and Azalea Environmental, but his greatest work was always his investment in people. He loved Jesus, loved his family, and loved others with a sincerity and warmth that made every room brighter. A devoted dad, son, husband, and friend, Bruce sought the best in every person he met.
A devoted dad, son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Bruce was a man of many passions. Bruce found joy in working on his farm, spending time at his cabin in the mountains, bush-hogging, snow skiing, playing basketball, following sports with his kids, golfing, and enjoying any moment spent outdoors.
He was also a dedicated member of Liberty Square, Harvest House, and the Cartersville Country Club.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Kay Robinson, and their three children: Canon Bruce Robinson, Alexis Brigitta Robinson Richardson and her husband Joshua David Richardson, and Benjamin Bryce Robinson. He is also survived by his parents, Linda Sue Robinson and Benjamin Bruce Robinson; his sisters Beth Robinson Dolan (husband Dale Dolan) and Cindy Robinson Steed (husband Bobby Steed); and many nieces and nephews whom he adored: Marissa Smith (Dustin), Ashleigh Coward (Matthew), Samantha Laing (Garrett), Paige Klemm (Mike), Madison Dolan, Courtney Davis (Will), Kayla Shelton (Dusty), Erika Gossett (Evan), Meghann Canon, Carson Dolan, Chris Dolan, Grace Dolan, Corey Dolan and Matt Williams (Jenna).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bruce and Pauline Robinson, John and Annie Ruth Peay, and by his beloved dogs Webber 1 and Webber 2.
Bruce had a lifelong fascination with sci-fi movies and always dreamed of being an astronaut or a storm chaser, visions that reflected his adventurous spirit and boundless curiosity. Bruce Robinson leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering love, and his light will continue to shine in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia. A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be conducted by Pastor Travis Ruland on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at The Church at Liberty Square, 2001 Liberty Square Drive NE, Cartersville, Georgia.
