

Carl Augustus Perkins, age 86 of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Perkins was born April 18, 1938, in Cartersville, GA, to the late Emory “Crip” and Winnie Mae Perkins.
Carl was the owner of Perkins Grave Service for sixty-seven years until his retirement. Mr. Perkins was a dedicated owner and showed great compassion towards providing exceptional service in digging graves for local funeral homes.
A passionate gardener and fisherman, Carl found joy in nature and cherished the simply pleasures in life. He was especially known for his annual Brunswick stew which brought family and friends together for memorable gatherings.
Mr. Perkins was married to Bobbie Perkins for sixty-eight years, a union filled with love and partnership that was an inspiration to those around them. Together, they built a family and a life rich in memories.
Carl faithfully attended Bethany Baptist Church where he found solace and connection with his faith. Mr. Perkins enjoyed spending quality time with his family creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Carl loved taking long walks in the park with his faithful dog, Cookie, who was always by his side.
Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bobbie Perkins; brothers, Grady, Buddy, and Johnny Perkins; sisters, Dovie Shinall and Dorothy Reed; son-in-law, Carter C Shaw; great-grandson, Aiden Shaw.
Mr. Perkins is survived by his children, Gale Shaw, Dale (Steve) Teems, and Danny (Vickie) Perkins; grand-children, Jenna Perkins, Levi (Amanda Hall) Shaw, Jake Watkins, Josh Watkins, Henley (Daniel) Miller; great-grandchildren, Emmerson Shaw, Collins Miller, and Crew Miller; sister-in-law, Mary McGhee. Mr. Perkins is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with his beloved dog Cookie.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation on Friday, February 14, 2025, from eleven-thirty in the morning until one-thirty in the afternoon at Owen Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon at Oak Hill Cemetery. Owen Funeral Home is honored to serve the Perkins family during this difficult time.
