Claude Ellis

Claude is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Malinda Ellis; wife of 61 years, Lillian Grizzle Ellis; sister, Marie Clendenin. He is survived by his daughter, Claudia Brooks (Dave), son, Steve Ellis (Dale); grandchildren, Andrew Brooks (Roni), Todd Ellis (Tammy), Corey Ellis (Jamilyn); great grandchildren, Shaun Brooks (Leah Priest), Casie Morrison (Devon), Curtis Anderson (Lauren), Peyton Ellis, Courtney Ellis; great-great grandchildren, Aaron Priest, Roman Brooks, Sven Morrison, Felix Morrison, Knox Anderson and Evie Anderson.

Claude was a Navy war veteran of World War II and a member of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge for 65 years. He retired from Lockheed as a master planner after many years of service.

He was a long-time member of Sam Jones United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the Men’s Bible Class, retired Men’s Club and Fellowship groups.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Nena Jones and Rev. Lathem Postell officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
