Deleona "Dee" Darlene Ray

Dee is preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary Bruce; brothers, Danny and David Ray; sisters, Bobby Jo Priest and Gaynale Hancock. Their memories will forever remain in our hearts, woven into the fabric of Dee's incredible life story.

Dee is survived by her devoted partner, Tamera Smith; daughters, Tonya Holcomb and Wahkuna Ashworth; sons, Joshua Ashworth and Robert Ashworth; sister, Betty Jean Dreskel and Reece Ray; grandchildren, Allan Gorman (and his partner), Rylee Ashworth, Camlin Ashworth, Calveigh Ashworth (and his partner), Kira Elliot, and Heaven Ashworth; great-grandchildren, Eli Ashworth, Emory Ashworth, and Mason Ashworth; son-in-law, Wesley Holcomb; niece, Melissa Golden. Her family and friends knew her by many endearing nicknames, such as "Sissy" and "Snuggle Bear" reflecting the warmth and affection she brought into their lives.

Dee's enjoyed spending quality time with her family and close friends, finding happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Dee had a particular fondness for sunflowers, which mirrored her own radiant and cheerful nature. She loved engaging in billiards, dancing, and attending festivals and gardens, filling her days with laughter and joy.

Professionally, Dee was known for her commendable three-year tenure at Ollie's, where she made lasting contributions and formed meaningful connections. However, she will be most remembered for her roles as a dedicated mother, grandmother (Gma), and great-grandmother (GiGi). Her family was the center of her world, and she embraced her roles with boundless love and devotion.

A private memorial service will be conducted on September 22, 2024 at Riverside day use area, 513 Allatoona Dam Road Se, Cartersville, GA 30121 at 12:30pm.

Dee's life was a testament to the power of love, joy, and the enduring bonds of family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Dee, knowing that your legacy of love lives on in the lives you've touched so profoundly.
