Doris S. Martin

Doris S. (Granny) Martin, 87, of Columbia Street, Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at a local hospital. Mrs. Martin was born August 20, 1929 in Stilesboro, Georgia, daughter of the late George Robert Sligh and LeAnne Shepard Sligh. She was a Homemaker and was a member of Mt. View Church of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Martin; her parents; sister, Alice Brock; brothers, Thomas Sligh, Clyde Sligh, Talmadge Sligh.

Survivors include her children, Sue Temples, Donna Martin and husband Bruce, June Martin, Terry Martin; a brother, Billy Sligh; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon October 24th at 3:00 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Dustin Poole, Colin Martin, Rusty Temples, Jamie Martin, Allen Martin, Ken Temples.
