Tootsie was born on October 13, 1929 in Cassville, GA, daughter of the late William Lloyd LaVasque and Kate Bell LaVasque.
Tootsie was a very proud graduate of Cassville High School, class of 1947. Tootsie was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served in the Daycare for twenty-plus years. Children were the light of her world and she was a wonderful witness for God, through her work with children. Many of those children, who are now grown, still talk about Mrs. Tootsie till this day. In her latter years, Tootsie's favorite thing to do was spending quality time with her family and most importantly, her great-granddaughter, Ansley Couch.
Tootsie is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Samuel James Allen; brothers, James Edwin LaVasque and Jimmy Allen LaVasque; sister, Inez Vaughan.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan Couch; grandson, John (Mandy) Couch; very special great-granddaughter, Ansley Couch; sister, Peggy Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
