
Mr. Yardley was born on October 24, 1926 in Marquand, MO, son of the late Claude Yardley and Ida Bell Swims Yardley.
Mr. Yardley proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army and in the Air Force Reserves. After his discharge from the military, he attended and graduated from Chillicothe School of Business in Missouri. His life long career was in the grocery business, where he began as a butcher and retired as Vice President of Retail Development for Bruno's, Inc of Birmingham, Alabama. He was a member of the Lions Club in North Carolina and he was also a Mason with a lodge in Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed tending to his garden and was also a voracious reader.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Wilma Jean Morgan Yardley; sister, Beatrice Yardley Modde.
Survivors include his daughter, Leslie (Jim)McCrary Owens; son, Frederick Anthony (Barbara) Yardley; grandchildren, Sean Yardley, Lacie (Michael)Yardley Oden and Morgan (Will) McCrary Brooks; great-grandson, Preston Oden; several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date in Missouri.
