Garrett Steven Black

Garrett was born, August 6, 2002 in Bartow County, the son of Eric and Kimberly (Sanford) Black and was a member of Raccoon Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cartersville Little League Brewers and loved to fish, hunt, draw and write stories.

Preceding him in death is his great-grandparents J.C. and Ethel Cline, Berl and Maxine Black, Martha Brock, William J and Ovaline K. Sanford and an uncle, William Charles Sanford.

Surviving are his parents, Eric and Kimberly Black, his brother, Eric Steven Black, Jr., grandparents, Steve (Pop Steve) and Betty (Bet-Bet) Black, Debra (Grandmer) and Gary (Taco) Sanford, all of Cartersville, great grandfather, Charles Brock of Taylorsville, aunts and uncle, Jeff and Sherry Black, Kelsey Sanford and two cousins, Trent and Davis Black of Cartersville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Black and James Surratt officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Danny Massey, Bobby White, Mitchell White, Randy Brock, Danny West and Terry Dawson.

Honorary pallbearers are Steve Black and Jeff Black and members of the Cartersville Little League Brewers.
