George Lewis McDonald

Mr. McDonald was born September 6, 1936, in Bartow County, the son of the late, George Harris and Wilma Butler McDonald.

He was a loving husband and father and a devoted Minister of the Gospel. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Reserves. He was a faithful member of Peeples Valley Community Church, was a Master Mason in the Stilesboro Lodge, and was retired from the City of Kennesaw as Public Works Assistant Manager.

Surviving are his wife of 54 Years, Martha Walker McDonald of Emerson, sons and a daughter in law, Charles and Cathy McDonald of Rome, Michael McDonald of Emerson, daughter, Janie Eidson of Acworth and a sister, Shirley Brown of Fairmount, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Peeples Valley Community Church with Rev. Larry Hufstetler, Rev. Charles Moore and Charles McDonald officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robbie McDonald, Jeremy Eidson, Daniel Eidson, Stephen Eidson, Johnny Martin, Jason Martin and Mathew Morris.
