

Born in Cartersville, December 21, 1925, Mr. Beck was the son of the late Emory G.
Beck and Devada Holcombe Beck. He was also preceded in death by a brother,
William Beck; a sister, Frances Beck; and sister-in-law Estelle Beck.
Mr. Beck is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Lusk Beck. Also
surviving are his children and their spouses: Steve and Gayle Beck; John and Vicki
Beck; Mary and Randy Berrey; and Nancy and Chuck Pollock, all of Cartersville.
He is survived by a brother, Dan Beck of Acworth; a sister,Jean Beck Smith of
Marietta; and sister-in-law, Janice Beck of Cartersville. He is survived by eight
grandchildren as follows: Brent and wife,Becky Beck; Jason Beck; Jonathan Beck;
Leslie and husband, Brian Shoemaker; Alex and Elliott Berrey; Scott and Carrie
Pollock; and great-grandchild, Ryan McCrary. He is also survived by numerous nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Beck proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during
World War II in the Pacific Theatre and later during the Korean conflict.
He was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served on
many committees; was an active deacon and trustee; and ultimately served as a Life Deacon.
Mr. Beck was employed for 42 years as the Distribution Manager of EZ-Mills. He then
worked eight years in the Public Works Department for the City of Cartersville. He retired in 1992.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at Tabernacle
Baptist Church with Dr. Don Hattaway officiating. Burial will follow at
Sunset Memorial Gardens.
