Helen S. Barker, 78, of Liberty Square Drive, Cartersville, Georgia, died Friday, May 14, 2010.Mrs. Barker was born May 20, 1931, in Bartow Count y, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Eva Mae Marr Shinall. She was employed at Tabernacle Baptist Church Day Care for many years as the Day Care Director, later she was employed at Walmart until she retired, was a member of the Bartow County American Cancer Society which she helped start and was a very active and faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 50 years .She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Barker, her daughter, Jan Barker, sisters, Betty Love, Ona Bell Creswell, Connie Edwards and brothers, Robert, Cliff, Felt and Joe Shinall.Surviving is her granddaughter, Jenna Williams and her husband, Tony of Cartersville, great grandchildren, Bryce, Karri, Loki and Lexi, sister, Geneva Jones of Cartersville, special niece, Janie Tomlinson and nieces she helped raise, Denice Cagle and Debra Sexton and several other nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held, Monday, May 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Don Hattaway and Rev. Lamar Guyton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Johnny Edwards, Gary Neal Shinall, Barry Love, Jimmy Addison, Jr., B.J. Cagle, Steve and Tony Shinall and Johnny Wayne Creswell.Honorary pallbearers will be the Laurel Sunday School Class, Betty and Grady Beck, Judy and Jimmy Little, Evelyn and Sam Allen, Kate and Jack Grizzle, Jane and Larry Graves, Denise and Kenny Jacobs.
