

Helen Louise Jordan Franklin loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on September 23, 2021. She was born on April 12, 1934 in Elba, Alabama. She was married to John W. Franklin, Sr. and lived in Cartersville, GA.
Helen is preceded in death her husband, Sergeant Major John W. Franklin, Sr., son, John W. Franklin, Jr. and grandson, James Young. She is survived by daughters, Susan C. Crainer and Tina Foley; daughter-in-law, Kathy Franklin; grandchildren, Suzanne West, Stacey Mackay, John Franklin III, Jason Franklin, Melissa Miller, Kevin Foley, Jr., Megan Forde and Kylie Tetley; and a legacy of multiple great- grandchildren.
Helen loved her life travelling with the “Love of Her Life”, Sgt. Major John W. Franklin, Sr. They traveled abroad to Germany, Puerto Rico and Panama, as well as, many of the States within the USA. She was devoted to her family. After retirement from the Military she and John loved living in Florida for many years and traveling in their Airstream RV all over the USA to wherever their travels took them until John’s death while they lived in Georgia close to their grandchildren and other family. Helen remained in Georgia until her recent passing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. The entombment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Cartersville. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 9:30 am until 10:00 am.
