
Mr. Casteel was born on October 17, 1934 in Englewood, TN, son of the late William Houston Casteel and Maggie Land Casteel.
Mr. Casteel retired from Lockheed Martin after thirty-five plus years of dedicated service. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and lived his life to give witness to others. He faithfully visited his loving wife of sixty-one years, Maritha June Casteel at Maple Ridge Nursing Home, where he taught Sunday School to her and the other residents. He was of the Baptist faith and a proud and active member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed, gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Johnny Hilton, Imogene Whitaker and Margaret Ann Casteel.
Survivors include his wife Maritha June Casteel; his son, Mike Casteel; daughter, Pamela (Randy) Smith; grand-daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Vincent; great-grandchildren, Braden Stanley, Jalen McFarland, Ashton and Keeli Vincent; brother, Charles (Bena) Casteel; sisters, Wanda Gray and Joyce Barker; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 20th of December, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Burrell officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until seven on Tuesday, the 19th of December, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
