James M. Holt

Mr. Holt was born July 10, 1922 in Bartow County, the son of the late, Robert Henry and Mary (Cunningham) Holt, was a World War II Veteran in the U.S. Navy, was a retired U.S.D.A. meat inspector for the Federal Government and was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gordon Holt and Norman Holt and a sister, Annie Holt Stegall.

Surviving is his wife, Doris Holt of Rockmart, sons, Jeff Holt of Cartersville, Ken Holt and his wife, Brenda of Kennesaw, daughter, Debbie Satterfield and her husband Billy of Harrison, Tennessee, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Dabbs and Rev. Charlie Marus officiating.

Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Rockmart.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be, Larry Holt, David Holt, Jim Holt, Jason Holt, Bobby Stegall, Corey Satterfield and John Holt.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
