James Lamar Knight

James Lamar Knight (Dan), age 84 of Cartersville, GA passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Dan was born in Cartersville, GA on June 7, 1935 to the late Ralph Knight and Sarah Wheeler Knight. Dan is preceded in death by his son in law; Ronn Harris, brother; Bill Knight, sister; Elizabeth Evans. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbi Knight, daughters; Dani Knight, Dee (Jimmy) Tidwell, Lolli Harris, grandchildren; Olivia Jordan Tidwell, Reece Tidwell, Celia Tidwell, Jacy Harris, great grandchildren; Kohen Harris, Grey Harris, brothers, Harry (Jackie) Knight, Don (Cleona) Knight, sister; Jane (Buddy) Wade.

Dan retired from New Riverside Ochre Mining Contractor after 60 years, just 6 months before his 80th birthday. He loved gardening and was the owner of Dan Knights Green Thumb. Dan was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he actively served as greeter, usher and Sunday school director. The family would like to extend a special thanks for the staff of The Fountains and Cartersville Medical center for the loving care shown to Dan.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Rev. Doug Harris and Rev. Patrick Latham officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville.

Serving as pallbearers are Daryl Frix, Dick Caswell, Brant Bosley, Doug Stanley, Gene Lewis and Scott Mauldin.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from ten-thirty in the morning until service time at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
