Born in Princeton, West Virginia, Jeff carried with him a steadfast work ethic and a giving heart throughout his life. He spent over 20 years in commercial construction and 25 years as a truck driver, proud of the hard work that shaped his journey. Recently, he had fulfilled a dream by purchasing land of his own, excited to build a tiny home and start a garden where he could continue creating with his hands.
Jeff will be remembered as a man who would quite literally give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar if you needed it. His family often said he would never be rich, because he would give it all away and anyone who knew him knows that was true. His empathy and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He had a contagious laugh—when Jeff laughed, everyone around him joined in.
He was happiest in the simple joys of life like sharing breakfast, savoring Brandi’s hot dogs, enjoying a scoop of ice cream, or resting after a long day’s work. He loved time on his property, his loyal grand-dog Banks, and the warmth of being surrounded by family.
Jeff is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Lynn Knox, and her husband, Kenneth Knox; his cherished granddaughter, Haley Knox; his brothers, Mark Broyles and Anthony Broyles (with wife, Jill); his sister, Kay Hale; and his nephews and nieces, Mark Broyles Jr., Elizabeth Ann Broyles, Crystal Broyles, and Ashley Broyles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie J. Bragg, and his brother, Braxton Broyles.
Those who knew Jeff will forever carry memories of his hardworking spirit, his unwavering generosity, and his ability to make anyone feel cared for. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and resilience will live on through his family and friends.
