
Joan Kluepfel Tilley died on September 11, 2024. Joan was a true New Yorker at heart, sophisticated and well read. Joan was born in Queens, N.Y on February 5th, 1940. She grew up in Glendale , Queens, NYC and married her husband Albert in 1960. Joan was a lifelong reader and writer; she loved a good bookstore or library and she could spend hours browsing at both places. She also loved to travel, was a foodie, and she loved to knit, cook, and plant and arrange flowers and loved tending her garden. Joan lived in New York, Cincinnati, Detroit, Boca Raton, and since 1976, Atlanta. She worked for IBM for many years and was a proud IBM Retiree. She was a devoted Catholic and worshipped at The Catholic Church of St. Ann. Joan loved her family more than anything and she is survived by 4 children, Michael and his wife Nori. of St. Simon’s Island, GA, Mary and her husband Mark of Greenville, S.C., Eileen of St. Louis, MO, and Alyssa and her husband Jamie of Dallas, GA, Grandchildren, Brooks Tilley of Atlanta, and Emily Waddell of Dallas, GA, and Jake and Ben Brenneman of Atlanta, and 3 Great Grandchildren.
