

Mr. Kraut was born on May 9, 1925 in New York, son of the late Morris Kraut and Tilda Kurtz.
Mr. Kraut proudly served his country during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. For nearly thirty years, Mr. Kraut worked with charitable disabled veterans groups and served as the Commander for the Jewish War Veterans Association. He was self-employed his entire life and when he entered retirement, he greatly enjoyed spending time on his farm with his dogs. He was of the Jewish faith and was a former member of Ahavath Achim Synagogue on Peachtree Battle in Atlanta.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Elaine Kraut.
Survivors include his wife, Remedios Dumol Kraut; daughters, Elizabeth Hope Frey (John), Carolyn Leslie Kraut, Michelle Ileana (Bob) Preston and Bella (Steve) Adkins; grandchildren, Melanie (Rick) Barry, Melissa Frey, Jason (Jessica) Coleman, Jared (Leah) Coleman, Danial (Lindsay) Adkins, Paul (Brooke) Adkins, William (Windy) Korn and Staci (David) Josef.
Graveside Services will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Byrd’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Knoxville, TN with Danial Adkins officiating.
Visitation will be held from two o’clock in the afternoon until four and six o’clock in the evening until eight on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
