Karen Ann Bishop Speer

Karen Ann Bishop-Speer, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at her home in Atlanta, following a lingering illness. Karen is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter and daughter-in-law, Tiffany and Lisa; grandson, Ross, parents, Thomas F. and Patricia Bishop; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Darla; nephew and niece, Tyler and Darian; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended relatives.

Karen is preceded in death by grandparents: Horace and Dottie McMicken; Kenneth and Martha Bishop.

She was a graduate of Cartersville High School, The Art Institute of Atlanta and The Portfolio Center for Graphic Design and Advertising in Atlanta. Karen was an award winning art director, illustrator, and graphic designer.

Her clients, to name a few, included Coca-Cola, Home Depot, Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Subway, Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), and Georgia Propane Gas Association.

Karen will be remembered by friends, family and colleagues as a character, a good friend, a sweetheart, fiery, creative, strong and spirited.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at Eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the Twenty Eighth of September, 2019 to honor Karen’s life at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Don Harp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood of Atlanta or Georgia Innocence Project.
