Kathryn Lousie (Black) Martin

A native of Bartow County, Kathryn was born July 15, 1932, to the late Edward W. Black and the late Arlee C. Black. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edd R. Martin; son, Kenneth Martin; daughter-in-law, Lawanda Martin; brother, Wayne Black, and sister Doris Ward.

Survivors include her two grandsons, Christopher Martin and Corey Martin (Carrie); three great-grandchildren, Will, Parker, and Sara Beth Martin; her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur “Buddy” Black (Jackie), along with several nieces and nephews.

Kathryn was a lifelong member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She retired after 16 years from the Bartow County Government as the Deputy Voter Registration Clerk.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Corey Martin, Reverend Travis Davis, and Reverend Keith Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, December 26th and on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 10 - 12 at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, GA 30120.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Martin, Will Martin, Parker Martin, Jerome Black, Don Abernathy and Caleb Black.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Charlotte Lewis and the late Doris Barnes for all their care over the past year.
