Lawrence Charles Deering

Lawrence Charles “Charlie” Deering, age 77 of Cartersville, GA passed away on June 19, 2023, at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Rome, GA on September 21, 1945, to Floyd and Genell Deering.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Genell Deering of Buchanan, Georgia and his sister, Clarice Rutledge of Roswell, Georgia. He is survived by his wife Jill Deering, a stepson, David Morris of Nashville, Tennessee, a daughter and son in law, Lori and Billy Cox of Cartersville and a son, Jeff Deering of Lewiston, Maine.

Charlie worked in the steel industry for 47 years and retired as a Heavy Equipment Supervisor at Tube City International Mill Service at Gerdau Cartersville Steel Mill.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023, with Glen Thompson officiating. The visitation will be from 3:00-4:00. Visitation and Service will be held at the Cartersville Elks Lodge #1969 located at 1715 West Avenue Cartersville Georgia. We’d love for everyone to dress comfortably and casually as that is the way that he would want it. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations made in his memory to the Cartersville Elks Lodge, PO Box 566 Cartersville GA 30120
