

Louise Jenkins Stepp Harper, age 92 of Cartersville, GA., passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. She was born in Taylorsville, GA. on February 22,1933 to Leonard Coleman Jenkins, Sr., and Leola Jenkins.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Jerry) Adams, Connie (Jimmy) Lovvorn; grandchildren, Nichole (Chris) Darwin, Stacey (Melanie) Adams, Cody Locklear, Kacie Locklear, Connar Locklear, Colson (Jayden) Locklear; great-grandchildren, Dustin Lingerfelt, Annaston Adams, Grant Adams; great-great grandchild, Braylen Lingerfelt; sister, Carole Holcomb; brother, Tommy Jenkins, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; Step children, Sam Harper, Lynn Thompson, Wilma Jenkins; Step grandchildren, Kenneth Stepp, Ricky Stepp, Tommy Stepp, Keith Stepp, Joy Stepp, Ray Ochoa, David Harper, Jamey Harper, Daryl Harper, Gary Thompson, Julie Thompson, Rusty Harper, Travis Harper
Louise is preceded in death by her parents; Leonard and Leola Jenkins; first husband, Rev. Claude Stepp; second husband, Rev. Leonard Harper; sisters, Thelma Luker, Lois Tidwell, Edna Amos, Jean Holcomb, Glenda Adams, Lizzie Jenkins; brothers, Grady Jenkins, Junior Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins and Frank Jenkins; Step children, Donald Stepp, Jimmy Stepp, Waylon Stepp, Jane Stepp, Wayne Stepp, WL Stepp, Jimmy Harper; Step grandchild, Larry Stepp
In addition to being a loving and devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother all throughout her life, Louise was a faithful Christian lady and always put God first in everything she did. She wanted everyone she knew and loved to know the Lord, and could often be heard telling stories of what he had done for her. Her wit and love for fun and a practical joke, including scaring nurses and Drs. as she would play “possum “when they were coming near to check on her, then she would scream as they got close just to see them jump, always kept her and everyone around her laughing. Their screams made her laughter ring out beyond the room walls.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harper will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Stepp (her grandson), and Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. The interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Stacey Adams, Cody Locklear, Connar Locklear, Colson Locklear, Dustin Lingerfelt and Braylen Lingerfelt will be serving as pallbearers, with Grant Adams serving as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm; as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday.
The family would like to take this time and thank everyone for their prayers, calls, texts, cooked food, etc., for them during this time.
