Mabel Gossett

Mrs. Gossett was born November 30, 1921 in Murfreesboro, TN, daughter of the late William Mundy and Lillie Mae Yancey Mundy.

Mrs. Gossett was a beloved mother and grandmother who spent her spare time with her children and grandchildren. She was a true prayer warrior and also loved to care for anyone around her in need. She enjoyed reading the Bible and talking on the telephone. She was a charter member of First Congregational Methodist Church in Cartersville, GA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry James Gossett, Sr.; sisters, Emily Shinall, Louise Turner, and Genola Robinson; brothers, Dorsey Mundy and Marvin “Bud” Mundy; grandchildren, Tracey Lynne and Tyra Ann Gossett; a great grand-daughter, Destiny Amber Gossett.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Henry James, Jr. and Miriam Gossett of Marietta, GA, Ronald Adam and Teresa Gossett of Cartersville, GA, David and Sharon Gossett of Cartersville, GA; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Grady Cornwell of Adairsville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Edward Summey and Betty and Hubert Woodward, all of Cartersville, GA; brother and sister-in-law Terry and Jeanette Mundy of Euharlee, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan and Angie Cornwell of Adairsville, GA, Jason and Rebecca Cornwell of Perry, GA, Amanda and Bryan Silvers of Kingston, GA, Jessica Williams, Chris and Lynn Gossett, Josh and Riannon Gossett all of Cartersville, GA and Brett Gossett of Kennesaw, GA; 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Sanders and Apostle Paul Spell officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Grandsons, Brett Gossett, Josh Gossett, Chris, Gossett, Jason Cornwell, Jonathan Cornwell and Brandon Sanford, will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Owen Funeral Home.
