Marie J. Johnson Vaughan

Mrs. Vaughan was born August 27, 1922, in Lamar, Alabama, daughter of the late Terry Johnson and Nancy O’Mary Johnson. She was a member of Young Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Herman L. Vaughan. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Babb; a brother, Herb Johnson of Orange Park, FL. and by a brother, Carling Johnson of Columbus, Miss.

Survivors include a step-son, Wayne Vaughan; step-granddaughter, Sheree Frederick; step-grandson, Timothy Vaughan; brother, Archie Johnson & wife Pat of Rockford, Ill.; sister-in-law & special Caregiver Dorothy Johnson of Columbus, Miss.; brothers-in-law, Ralph Vaughan & wife Lanell, Sherlin Vaughan & wife Marie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon October 21st at 1:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reggie Nations officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Josh Smith, Herman Redd, Scott Templeton, Joe Land, Marvin Cordell and Gordon Tidwell.

In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Rome Hospice Group.
