

Richard “Dick” Riley, age 96, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away on November 26, 2025, at his home in Taylorsville, Georgia. Dick was born on September 10, 1929. He was an Air Force Korean War veteran stationed in Alaska and California. He worked as an electronics engineer on jet fighter aircraft. Dick was later employed by IBM as a design engineer for 31 years. He retired in 1984 at age 55. Dick married Marge on June 3, 1950, at age 20. They celebrated 76 years of marriage. Dick enjoyed working with his hands. He and his family built a summer home on Schroon Lake in upstate New York. He enjoyed numerous other hobbies including sailing, skiing, square dancing, reading, gardening, travel and Christian studies. He also loved animals. He had an excellent memory and enjoyed writing his autobiography. Marge and Dick retired to Springhill, Florida in 1986 where they bought a motorhome and traveled the country. They also enjoyed extensive international travel. Dick became very active in his Springhill church and was ordained as a deacon. He was a faithful, passionate Christian. In 2016 they relocated to Taylorsville, Georgia where they enjoyed spending many hours with family. His wife joined him in heaven on December 4, 2025. Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings: Bob Riley, Nancy (Ike) Kindinger, and David (Betty) Riley. Survivors include his sister, Linda (John) Crum, his three children: Patrick (Kathryn) Riley, Kathleen (Thomas) Francesconi, and William (Helen) Riley, all of Georgia; grandchildren: Julia (John David) Pond and their children, Michael and Annalee; Michael (Katie) Francesconi and their children, Eva, Mia, Isaac, and Levi; Christopher (Monica) Riley and their child, Maxwell; Allison (Kyle) Duncan and their child, Sophie; Alexander Riley; Colin (Meghan) Riley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marjorie ‘Marge’ Riley, age 96, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away on December 4, 2025 at her home in Taylorsville, Georgia. Marge was born on May 21, 1929. She married Dick on June 3, 1950, at age 21, and they celebrated 76 years of marriage. Marge and Dick raised three children in New York. She began working for IBM in the 1970s, holding several positions including Blood Drive Director, Country Club Nursery School Coordinator, and Computer Tape Librarian. She and Dick relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, with IBM in the late 1970s. They retired from IBM in 1986 and moved to Springhill, Florida. Marge held leadership roles in several women’s groups, including her church in Springhill. She enjoyed numerous hobbies, including reading, square dancing, playing cards, shopping, and travel. For several years, she worked as a volunteer at Disney World in Orlando. She went above and beyond her responsibilities and received a Disney award for exemplary customer service. Marge enjoyed planning and hosting parties for friends. She loved people and those in her world thoroughly enjoyed her sense of humor and her teasing banter. She was a loving, supportive wife and mother. Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard (Dick), her parents and siblings: sisters, Patricia (Paul) Reese and Mary (Ray)Metzger and brothers, Charles (Mary), Tom (Janet), Harold (Mary), Richard (Joann) and Bob(Gloria)Yetzer. QSurvivors include her brother, Jim (Betty) Yetzer; her children: Patrick (Kathryn) Riley, Kathleen (Thomas) Francesconi, and William (Helen) Riley, all of Georgia; grandchildren: Julia (John David) Pond and their children, Michael and Annalee; Michael (Katie) Francesconi and their children, Eva, Mia, Isaac, and Levi; Christopher (Monica) Riley and their child, Maxwell; Allison (Kyle) Duncan and their child, Sophie; Alexander Riley; Colin (Meghan) Riley and numerous nieces and nephews.
