Born on June 7, 1929, in Gordon County, he was the son of the late William Richard Epps and the late Ollie Pye Epps. He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Marvin Epps; his sisters, Addie Pinson, Clara Mae Epps Day, Lois Irene Epps Lee; and his brother, Wilburn Epps.
Marvin served his country as PFC in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he was very involved. He was retired from Gilreath Oil Company after 34 years. He loved and cherished his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Grace Black Epps; his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Jerry Prewett; his three grandchildren, Candace Prewett Worsham, Crystal and Jason Glass, and Stephen Prewett; seven great-grandchildren, Arabella and Dalilah Worsham, Lia and Troy Glass, Hunter, Jojo, and Tristan Prewett.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Battles officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Epps, Robby Epps, Jimmy Cline, Glen Hollingshed, Kevin Black, Alan Black, and Roger Black.
