Mary Ann Davis

Mrs. Davis was born September 4, 1938 in Lincoln, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Rev. Richard P. Lehmann and Margaret Novak Lehmann. She was a member of the Cartersville Episcopal Church of the Ascension.

Preceded in death by her husband of twenty five years in 2001, Jefferson Lee (Jeff) Davis Jr., she is survived by her children and their spouses, Lehmann and Dee Smith, of Cartersville, Carrie S. and Hayes Brown, of Birmingham, Alabama, Ashley D. and Robert Grooms, of Cartersville and Jefferson L. Davis 111. Of Cartersville, eleven grandchildren, a brother, Dennis Lehmann, of Bonner Elk, North Carolina, two sisters, Margaret Evans, of Jacksonville, Florida and Ruth Lee, of Tifton, Ga., a sister in law, Grace Davis, of Athens, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lehmann.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, December 19, 2013 from the Cartersville Episcopal Church of the Ascension, with Rev. Mary Erickson officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery located at the Ryals-Davis Farm, on old Alabama Road.

Pallbearers will be Hayes Brown, David Graham, Les Smith, Grey Taylor, Morgan Smith and Thornton Brown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 2:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the church on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers asks contributions be made to the Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, Bartow Advocates for Children or the Tabernacle Bread of Life Ministry.
