
Mr. Webb was born August 29, 1937 in Elbert County, a son of the lateP.D. Webb and Martha Thomas Webb. He graduated from Berry College in Rome, Ga. in 1959 with a degree in History and Physical Education. He was known at Berry College as the “Mighty Mouse of Berry Baseball Team”. He moved to Bartow County as a teacher and coach at Pine Log High School in 1959. Afterward he became associated as a teacher at Cloverleaf Elementary School 1962 until 1963. He was a counselor for high risk children in Bartow County. He became affiliated with Georgia Diversified until his retirement.
He was an active member of Gilmer Street Baptist Church for a number of years and served as a deacon, a teacher and served on many committees. He later became a member of Wofford’s Cross Roads Baptist Church in White, Ga. where he served as a deacon until his death.
Mr. Webb was an avid sports fan and supported all activities in Bartow County, particularly with the “Canes” of Cartersville High School. He loved baseball and football and attended many games all over the state involving the “Canes”. He was well loved, appreciated and admired by the young men and women involved in these sports and added much to their attitude, and appreciation in the sports realm inspiring each to reach their goal in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Helen Norman and Betty Blackman and a brother, Vernon Webb.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Bramlett Webb, whom he married August 28, 1960, a son, Jeff M Webb and his wife, Linda, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jon B. Webb and his wife, Patty, of Plains, Ga., a grandson, William Medlock Webb, of Plains, a granddaughter, Sara Ruth Webb, of Plains, and granddaughters, Madison Grace Webb and Morgan Faith Webb, of Fort Collins and two sisters, Virginia Oakley and Hilna Bond, both of Elberton, Ga.
Memorial services will be held 2:00P.M. Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Wofford’s Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Dempsey, Rev. Doug Harris and Rev. Charles Ivy officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M. Friday at the church.
