Rev. Freddie W. Morris

He was born June 10, 1941 in Canton, Georgia, a son of the late George Rollin Morris and Lillie Mae Hite Morris.

Rev. Morris was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church, in Rydal and a retired truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Beatrice Morris, his sister, Barbara Long and his brother, Bennie Morris, and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Elrod Morris, his sons, David G. Morris and Donald E. Morris, both of Rydal, and a brother, George Rollin Morris, Jr., of Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2012 from the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Rydal, with the Revs. Donnie Summey and Ray Tant officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Moss, Jody Elrod, Joe Roberson, James Surratt, Kurt Hailey and Mike Keiser. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Lee, Leroy Kelly, Byron Tillery, Huey Hollaway, Phillip Chapman, Butch Tant and Willard Hambric.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Friday.
