

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James B. Castleberry; brothers William “WT” Davis, Mervil “Mert” Davis, Herman Davis, Phillip “PD” Davis, and Bobby Davis; sisters Virginia Davis Champion, Catherine Davis Taylor, Dixie Davis Champion, and Deborah Davis Chambers; and son-in-law, David Brooks Gayton.
A native of Bartow County, she graduated from Pine Log High School in 1952. Prior to an extended illness, she was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy Castleberry Gayton and Becky Castleberry Ferguson (Mark); grandchildren Jaclyn Fleischer Barnum (Corey), John Fleischer (Jaclyn), Rachael Fleischer Thornbury (David), Sarah Fleischer, Carl Fleischer III, Jacob Ferguson, and Emma Grace Ferguson; brothers Johnny Davis (Gussie) and Steve Davis (Pat); sister Betty Davis Logan; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mert Davis (Darlene) and Mrs. Herman Davis (Darnell), and 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family wishes to thank her long-term caregiver, Fernanda Zapata, for the love, friendship, and devotion shown over the years.
Visitation was held at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia 30120, on April 7, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Mrs. Castleberry will be laid to rest with her husband, James B. Castleberry, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Faith Methodist Church Manna Pantry.
