Shirley J. Nix Perry

Born May 19, 1947, in Rome, she was the daughter of the late John Lee Nix and Tommie Ann Bryant Nix of Cartersville. She was a retired cosmetologist and a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Cartersville.

Survivors include her mother, Tommie Ann Bryant Nix; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina Barrett Hardy and Charles L. Hardy III of Commerce; and Misty Barrett Myrick and Eric Myrick of Cartersville; four grandchildren, Anna Caroline Hardy, Lambdin Barrett Hardy, Erica Devin Myrick, and Colin Andrew Myrick. She also is survived by two brothers, Joe Nix and his wife, Brenda; Ronnie Nix and his wife, Joann; and two sisters, Betty Cowart (late husband Ray); Ann Dussault (late husband Ray).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Cartersville with the Rev. Joe Nix and Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the funeral home.

Nick Cowart, Brian Nix, Kevin Nix, Russell Nix, Michael Ezell and Robert Nix will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Nix, Travis Nix, Keith Nix, Scott Cowart and David Ezell.

Owen Funeral Home of Cartersville is in charge of arrangements.
