

Stu was born on October 7, 1966, in Bibb County, Georgia, and grew up in Marietta, GA. & graduated from Wheeler High School in 1984.
He was a man of many passions, known for his kind heart, love of nature, and dedication to animals. In recent years, Stu worked as a night ranger at Red Top Mountain State Park— a role he took great pride in and truly enjoyed.
Stu had a deep love for the outdoors, often spending time camping, hiking, exploring, and strumming his guitar beneath the trees. He was also an avid collector of International Scout vehicles and delighted in visiting car museums and attending Scout meets.
Above all, Stu had a profound love for dogs. He served on the board of the Etowah Valley Humane Society and supported their mission with tireless dedication.
Stu is preceded in death by his father, Larry Kemp Chancey. He is survived by his loving mother, Vivian Williamson Chancey of White, Georgia; his brother, Steve Chancey (Kendra) of Tallapoosa GA; and his beloved niece, Kendall Kemp Chancey.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, at Owen Funeral Home, located at 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM.
Please join as we continue to celebrate Stu following the service from 3-7pm at Hamilton Crossing Park (Pavilion A), 155 Hamilton Crossing Road NW, Cartersville, GA 20120. BBQ, slaw & beans will be provided.
