

Wallace Herman (John) Summey, age 76, of Spring Street, Cartersville; son of the late Columbus & Ardle Fowler Summey, passed away Thursday June 17, 2010 at Cartersville Medical Center. Preceded in death by a son; Alton Martin Summey and brothers; J.L. and James Summey.Mr. Summey was retired from General Motors with 25 years service. He was a member of Euharlee Masonic Lodge # 457 F. & A.M. and was active in many other Lodges. He was a member of First Congregational Methodist Church and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He was known as the produce man in Kennesaw, Marietta Square and Bartow County Courthouse.Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Margaret Martin Summey; daughter, Terre Summey; a grandson, Trevor Summey; a special daughter; Joette Posada; sister-in-law; Lynn & John Jenkins; brothers and spouses; Edward (Red) & Anne Summey, Willard & Gladys Summey, Glen & Ruth Summey, Larry & Margaret Summey; a sister & spouse; Bernice Parr & Bob Lewis; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning June 19th at 11:00 A.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathan Sanders and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery with full Masonic graveside rites.
