William Austin "Billy" Vaughan

Mr. Vaughan was born February 29, 1936 in Bartow County, Georgia son of the late John William Vaughan and Mary Dorroh Vaughan. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, was in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of Pine Log United Methodist Church. He was retired from Clorox, formerly Union Carbide/First Brands.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Wright Vaughan; a son & daughter-in-law, Neil Vaughan & Susan Morris Vaughan; granddaughters, Meagan Leigh Townsend, husband Eric and Lauren Taylor Vaughan; adoptive family, Jamette & Doug Ralston; sister, Wilma Rampley; 1 niece, 1 nephew; host of cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon July 18th at 2:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Nida and Rev. Charles Marus officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Mike Bramlett, Murphy Fountain, Danny Vaughan, Wiley Vaughan, Dwight Vaughan and Taylor Vaughan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Faith United Methodist Church or Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
