September 13, 2006 – September 28, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Xavier Thompson, age 19, of Cartersville, Georgia, who left this world far too soon on September 28, 2025.
Born on September 13, 2006, Xavier brought a vibrant energy into the world that never dimmed. Known for his adventurous spirit, infectious laugh, and magnetic smile, Xavier had a unique way of making everyone around him feel alive. He was a young man full of life, heart, and humor—never one to shy away from a good time or a chance to make someone smile.
He was the beloved son of Danielle Walker and stepson of Joseph Payne, and a fiercely protective and loving brother to Melody Jones. He was son of the late, Big Xavier Thompson. He ran into the arms of his dad at the gates of Heaven. He was cherished by his grandparents, Gerry Pinckney and Wendy Wass, and deeply loved by his Aunt Tehya Thompson, his best friend Gavin Potts, and a host of family members and countless friends who were lucky enough to know and love him.
Xavier was known for doing wheelies on his dirt bike with a fearless grin, laying down burnouts in his beloved Mustang, “Black Betty,” and teasing his mom just enough to drive her crazy—before hugging her close. He had a special gift for bringing laughter to every room and could light up a day with a glance. He had a particular talent for “loving money from other people,” and doing it with such charm that no one could ever be mad.
His bond with his sister was unbreakable—always her protector, always her friend. Whether he was out on an adventure with friends or simply spending time with family, Xavier lived life full throttle, with passion, love, and a spark that won’t soon fade.
A Celebration of Life for Xavier will be held on Wednesday, October 1st at Owen Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to come together to honor his life, share memories, and say farewell to a soul who made a lasting mark on every heart he touched.
Though Xavier’s time here was brief, his impact was immeasurable. His laughter, his light, and his love will live on in the stories we tell, the memories we hold, and the lives he changed just by being in them.
Rest easy, Xavier. Ride high. Burnouts forever.
