

Alan Paul Keyes, 83, of Raleigh, passed away on February 18, 2012, surrounded by his family's love. Mr. Keyes was born in The Bronx, New York, on September 24, 1928 to the late William and Eunice Keyes.
He was preceded in death in 2007 by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Rose Hannon Keyes.
Mr. Keyes is survived by his children, Kathleen Currin of Raleigh; Paul Keyes and wife, Ann, of Durham; and Marirose Steigerwald and husband, Steve, of Raleigh. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Currin, Drew Currin and wife Elizabeth, Bryan Currin, Kristyn Keyes, Lara Keyes, Caitlin Conklin and husband Brennan, Sean Steigerwald, Marcy Steigerwald; and great-grandson, Chase Conklin.
Mr. Keyes was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, and a proud graduate of Xavier High School in New York City. He enjoyed a successful career in sales and built his own business as a manufacturer's rep in the HVAC industry. Mr. Keyes was known by all for his wit, his jokes, and his amazing ability to remember everyone's name.
A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 200 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. After the Mass, there will be a private inurnment at Our Lady of Lourdes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
