Andrew Robinson Henderson, Jr., 87, passed away October 17, 2012. Born in Charlotte, NC August 28, 1925, a lifelong member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Huntersville, NC, an associate member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and a 32nd Degree Mason. Andy served in the US Navy as a Corpsman with the US Marines from 1943-1946. Andy graduated from NC State with a BS degree in Agricultural Engineering. He was recognized by the Purebreed Cattle Dairy Association as having the highest production average herd in NC. Andy later developed and operated Holiday Harbor Marina on Lake Norman near Cornelius, NC, and developed land in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties, NC, Rock Hill, SC and Seminole county, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce L. Henderson; children, Nancy Lowe (Phil), Robbie Henderson (Miriam), Anne Delude (Mike), and David Henderson (Kari); 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
